INHS Sanjeevani

Sanjivani is a medicinal herb found in the Himalayas in ancient times. When the Righteous forces of Rama and Lakshmana were fighting against the evil forces of Ravana in Lanka, Lakshmana fell mortally wounded. The Physician Sage agreed that the only way he could be cured was to administer to him a medicine made out of Sanjivani herb that could be found only in the Himalayas. Hanuman, the great son of Vayu the Wind God was assigned to fetch the herb. On reaching the Himalayas and unable to identify the herb, he picked up a whole mountain (Meru Parvat) and carried it to Lanka. The Sage identified the herb and administered the medicine to Lakshmana who soon recovered and returned to the battlefield (Valmiki Ramayana).

Clinical Services

Anaesthesia Department - The operation theatre of INHS Sanjivani has been recently upgraded to a modular stainless steel operation theatre. It has state of art air filtration and aseptic measures which minimizes the chances of infection during the operation. In addition to general surgeries, Cancer, Microscopic and Laparoscopic surgeries are also performed in the OT.

Blood Bank - INHS Sanjivani has a licensed blood bank which caters for the requirement of whole blood. It is modular blood bank with separate sections for collection, screening, storage and issue of blood to maintain a high level of sterility. The blood bank also carries out screening tests for HIV, HCV and HBsAg. The blood bank conforms to the standards of Indian Drugs and Cosmetics Act and Rules.

Dermatology Department - The department offers comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for various skin diseases. It has a well equipped Dermatosurgery unit that offers CO2 Laser surgery, Radiofrequency surgery, electrosurgery, chemical cautery, excision repair services to the clientele. Advanced Phototherapy (in both UVA and Narrow Band UVB modes) is available for the care of patients with psoriasis and vitiligo. Histopathology services in collaboration with the Department of Pathology are also offered for precise diagnosis of skin diseases.

Dental Centre - A two chair dental centre was sanctioned by GOI in the year 1969. The dental centre provides comprehensive treatment to its clientele. It is equipped with all basic equipment like physiological dental chairs, Ultrasonic Scaler, Light cure equipment, table-top autoclaves, UV Cabinets, X-ray machines, glass bead sterilizer, needle destroyers, amalgamators, RVG and intra oral camera etc.

Ear Nose and Throat Department - INHS Sanjivani has well equipped ENT centre that carries out all basic ENT procedures and surgeries and provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic service to its clientele. Surgeries like adenotonsillectomy, septoplasty, tracheostomy, FESS, ear surgeries using microscope are performed. Hearing aid trial and fitment with modern digital aids is carried out. Speech therapy by a qualified speech therapist is also given to patients.
