Renovated Navy Canteen Inaugurated at Kochi
Renovated Canteen Inaugurated at Kochi Naval Base
The renovated retail outlet of the Indian Naval Canteen Service (INCS) at Naval Base Kochi was inaugurated by Vice Admiral (Retd) KN Sushil, in the presence of Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief Southern Naval Command on 24 Aug 12. INCS which serves about 50,000 Indian Naval personnel and Armed Forces veterans has an average daily footfall of 3000.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Admiral (Retd) Sushil expressed the optimism that the quality of service and the ambience in the canteen would be as good as the best in the country. Vice Admiral Satish Soni released a onetime grant of Rs 30,000 to the INCS as a special Onam gesture and complimented the employees of INCS for their dedication.
The renovation which was undertaken without disrupting daily operations included creation of 7000 sq ft of air conditioned space for textiles and costly section, 4000 sq ft of customers’ waiting area, new warehouse and a modern office for the Regional Office of INCS. Other works carried out including installation of fire fighting system , security cameras and a public address system.The renovation was carried out by M/s S&S Agencies. Commander Vijay Kumar is the Regional Manager of INCS at Kochi.
