Exercise 'IBSAMAR'


The acronym IBSAMAR stands for 'India-Brazil-South Africa Maritime'. Exercise 'IBSAMAR' is conducted between India, Brazilian and South African Navies in the Indian Ocean region.  The exercise is the maritime element of the regional co-operation initiative between India, Brazil and South Africa, namely IBSA



IBSAMAR II, the tri-lateral naval exercise between the navies of India, Brazil and South Africa was held off South Africa in Sep 10. IN ships Mysore, Ganga, Tabar and Aditya participated in the exercise.



Two IN Ships participated in India-Brazil-South Africa Maritime (IBSAMAR) Exercise from 02 to 16 May 08 off South Africa.  Two Brazilian and four South African naval ships also participated in the exercise.  During deployment, IN ships made port calls at Maputo and Nacala in Mozambique, Male in Maldives, Port Louis in Mauritius and Port Victoria in Seychells.
