Dilli Seminar - 21

The eighth edition of ‘Dilli Series’ Sea Power Seminar will be conducted from 11-12 October 2021 at INA and will be streamed live on YouTube. The theme of this year’s webinar is ‘Maritime History of the IOR’. The theme is further divided into three sub-themes, which will be discussed by various speakers over a span of two days. The first Sub- theme on Day 1 focusses on ‘Early Maritime Interactions and Relevance Today’ and will be moderated by Vice Admiral Pradeep Chauhan (Retd). Listen to Dr Rukshana Nanji speak on ‘Ancient Maritime Wisdom and Maritime Linkages of India’ while Dr Suchandra Ghosh, Professor at the University of Hyderabad, will expound upon ‘Early Maritime Silk Route- Socio-Economic, Cultural, Military and Religious Dimensions’. Professor Himanshu Prabha Ray from JNU will then paint the canvas with ‘Evidences on Ancient India’s Maritime Activities’. Don't miss this enriching session which will highlight the cultural, military, and religious dimensions of the early maritime linkages between India and the rest of the world along with the ensuing period of Indian history that witnessed significant maritime activity in the form of trade and naval expeditions.
