Dornier Operational Flying Training Course Passing Out Prade Held at INS Garuda

The passing out ceremony for five officers of the 23 Dornier Operational Flying Training Course (DOOFT) was held at INAS 550, INS Garuda on 04 September 2018. The seven months DOOFT course included ground training at various professional schools and flying training at INAS 550, the Dornier training squadron of the Indian Navy. In addition to theoretical training, the trainees were exposed to practical, outdoor exercises such as sea survival camp, jungle survival camp and visits to various aviation related agencies. Lieutenant Akshay Dahiya stood first in ground subjects as well as in the overall order of merit and Lieutenant Siddharth Singh was adjudged first in flying. The trainees are now fully qualified for all operational missions on Dornier aircraft.
