Indian Navy Chetak Intercepts Suspicious Boat off Dhanushkodi

Coastal Security During the aerial surveillance sortie by Naval helicopter of 321 Parundu Flight, a suspicious Sri Lankan fibre boat carrying five persons was intercepted before it tried fleeing over to the Sri Lankan side of the IMBL on 27 February 2020. The boat was escorted to Lands end at Dhanushkodi where it was handed over to local authorities for further investigation. This is the second seizure of a Sri Lankan fishing boat this month. Previously, the Naval helicopter of INS Parundu intercepted a similar type of boat on 15 February 2020 which was illegally carrying 3.5 kg gold bars
