Mid Year Refit Review at Southern Naval Command

Indian Navy's Mid Year Refit and Infrastructure Progress Review was inaugurated by Vice Admiral AK Chawla, FOCINC, SNC on 15 September 2021 at HQSNC. The review, chaired by Vice Admiral Sandeep Naithani, Chief of Materiel COM was attended by representatives of Naval Headquarters in addition to representatives from SNC, Naval Ship Repair Yard (Kochi) and Material Organisation (Kochi). The inaugural address for the review was delivered by the FOCINC, SNC. The COM in his address to the forum emphasised the need to bolster public private relationship in defence sector and focus on indigenisation. Deliberations upon the refit plans for ships based at SNC, discussions on the extant maintenance policies and review of infrastructure augmentation to meeting the growing requirements of the Indian Navy were the main agenda for the review.
