MSC - 05 Valedictory Function held at Naval War College on 09 Sep 21

Valedictory Function of the 5th Maritime Security Course (MSC-05), an International programme for Naval Officers from Friendly Foreign Countries, was held at Naval War College NWC, Goa on 09 September 2021. MSC-05 was attended by officers from Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Nigeria and Maldives. Rear Admiral S Venkat Raman, Commandant NWC presided over the function and presented course participants with certificates and mementos. Stressing upon importance of maritime security in nation building during his closing remarks, the Commandant NWC remarked that in a dynamically changing geo-political scenario, there was a need for Navies in the IOR to forge stronger ties and collaborate in developing efficient security architecture in maritime domain. Aimed at strengthening Bridges of Friendship and building consensus amongst regional maritime nations, the course curriculum covered a wide canvas in the strategic and operational domain. During the eight-week programme, course participants were exposed to concepts of National Security and Strategy, Geopolitics, India’s Strategic Neighbourhood and Maritime Security Operations. They also interacted with subject matter experts and eminent speakers on varied subjects and visited various operational and training establishments of the Indian Navy during the course.
