Passing Out Ceremony - Para Military Diving Course

A Passing Out Ceremony for 11 Paramilitary trainees including, eight from the Border Security Force (BSF) and three from the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF), was held on 14 September 2019 at Diving School. PK Mandal, Constable of 8th Battalion NDRF was adjudged the Best Diver amongst the trainees. The diving course for Para Military personnel is aimed to equip them to undertake underwater search and rescue missions during contingencies in their area of responsibility. The five-week course comprised daily surface and underwater work-up drills, confidence building drills and emergency and evacuation drills. They were additionally trained for carrying out underwater searches in zero visibility and strong tidal conditions.
