Triathlon Championship Held at INS Shivaji

A Triathlon competition, focusing on improving physical fitness of naval personnel and inculcating sportsman spirit, was conducted at INS Shivaji, Lonavla on 04 January 2019. Eight teams, comprising six each from trainees and the staff participated in the championship. The route comprised of 01 km swim in Shivsagar lake, followed by 10 kms cycling and finally a 05 kms run. In the individual category, Yogendra Yadav ME I was adjudged first, while Deepak Kumar, NVK, ME and B Venugopal E/A were second and third respectively. Shivneri team was declared the winner, while Panhala team was the runners-up in the championship. Station Commander Lonavla presented the medals and trophies to the winners and also felicitated all the participants for successfully completing the race.
