Indian Navy Conducts Medicare Drive at Lakshadweep Islands
A health training cum medicare drive was conducted by a 23-member medical team from INHS Sanjivani, as part of outreach activities of Southern Naval Command in four islands of Lakshadweep and Minicoy from 07 to 10 November 2017. INS Sharda, with the medical team embarked, was deployed to Kadmatt, Kiltan, Chetlat and Bitra islands. Around 1,100 patients were treated over four days by the team, comprising eight specialists in Oncology, Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Dermatology and Gynecology. The team also undertook lecture cum demonstration for police personnel and boat rescuers on first aid, basic life support system and cardio pulmonary resuscitation.
