Chilka Lake Mouth Sailing Expedition 01/2018

Marakkar division emerged victorious in the Chilka lake mouth sailing expedition for batch 01/2018 held at INS Chilka from 18 to 19 May 2018. The expedition was conducted with the aim to inculcate spirit of adventure, esprit-de-corps and perseverance, as also to hone sailing and seamanship skills. A total of 600 trainees, sailors and officers participated in the 80 kms long sailing cum pulling expedition, which started from Watermanship Training Center to Chilka lake mouth. 20 DK Whaler boats, two from each division, participated in the expedition. A cultural program and camp fire were held at the base camp at Satpada, wherein the trainees showcased their artistic and musical skills. Commodore Manish Misra, Commanding Officer, INS Chilka awarded the prizes to the winners.
