Inter Divisional Jal Tarang Competition at INS Chilka, Odisha

Inter Divisional 'Jal Tarang' for trainees of Batch 02/2018 was conducted at INS Chilka on 15 December 2018 with the aim to encourage participation in aquatic sports, foster team spirit and create a healthy competition amongst the trainees. Ten teams of 100 trainees each, one from each division, competed in the 'Jal Tarang'. An open 50 metre freestyle swimming race for both trainees and staff, in different age categories, was also conducted concurrently. 1,200 personnel participated in the event. Commanding Officer, INS Chilka awarded prizes to the winners. Azad Division won the Inter Divisional Jal Tarang trophy, while Ekalavya Division was adjudged runner’s up. In the individual 50 metres freestyle race, Aman Singh, SSR from Ashok division and Abhijit Shaw, SSR from Azad division stood first and second respectively.
