INS Shivaji Conducts Camp Abhyaas 2019

As part of outdoor training, Camp Abhyaas was conducted for trainee sailors of Direct Entry Engineering Mechanic (DEME) course 60.043 from 15 to 17 May 2019. The aim of the camp was to develop stamina, camaraderie and group dynamics. 402 naval personnel took part in the camp, which included 379 trainees from the DEME course, 20 assistant divisional chiefs from CHERA 'Q' course and two staff sailors from training team. Major activities of the camp included, an approach route march from INS Shivaji to the campsite, a night navigation exercise, mini josh run, tent pitching and troop games such as tug of war and volleyball. The camp culminated with a final Josh Run. Sudhagad Division emerged as the winners of Camp Abhyaas-19, while Korigad Division was adjudged as runners-up. In the individual category, Sumit Vijay Atkare DEME from Sudhagad Division was adjudged the 'Best Camp Trainee,' while Mohit, DEME from Korigad Division was adjudged as the 'Most Spirited Trainee'.
