Cycling Expedition Conducted at INS Shivaji

INS Shivaji conducted a cycling expedition for trainee sailors on 12 July 2019 from the unit to Pawana lake and back. The aim of the expedition was to promote camaraderie, esprit-de-corps, sportsmanship, physical fitness, and group cohesion. The expedition was also intended to encourage green initiatives and preservation of the environment. The expedition was flagged off by Officer-in-Charge, Centre of Marine Engineering Technology. The cycling route covered picturesque sites of Lohagad and Tikona forts, culminating at Pawana Lake. The team also undertook a lake clean up drive, which received huge support from the local population and tourists, towards ensuring a clean and green ecosystem.
