Basic Submarine Course Trainees Pass-out at INS Satavahana, Visakhapatnam

21 officers and 108 sailors of Basic Submarine course successfully passed out from INS Satavahana on 17 September 2019 on completion of 24 weeks of rigorous training. The present Basic Submarine Course, for Sindhughosh and Shishumar class of submarines, commenced at INS Satavahana,  the premier submarine training institute of the Indian Navy, on 08 April 2019. The training included Submarine construction, professional phase and the Escape Training phase. During the course trainees also participated in a number of sports events and adventure activities. The trainees also competed in various events at the adventure training camp held at Thatipudi reservoir in July 2019.

The passing out Parade conducted at Visakhapatnam was reviewed by Rear Admiral RJ Nadkarni, AVSM, VSM Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command. During the Passing out parade, Lt Kartikeya Pandey was awarded the Best Officer trophy for all round performance and  Manoj Rana EAR/Apprentice was awarded the trophy for 'Best all round Sailor. The trainees will now proceed to submarines for sea training for 6 months.
