Passing Out of Long Gunnery (Foreign) Course, INS Dronacharya
17 officers from ten Friendly Foreign Countries namely, Bangladesh, Ghana, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Myanmar, Nigeria, SriLanka and Tanzania graduated on completion of their ‘Gunnery’ specialisation 19 at a Passing Out Parade held at INS Dronacharya, Fort Kochi on 06 December 2019. The Commanding Officer, INS Dronacharya reviewed the parade and presented Admiral RD Katari Trophy and book prize for being adjudged the best overall trainee and standing First in the overall Order of Merit respectively to Lieutenant Commander JK Bentil from Ghana. Lieutenant Harez EB Hussain from Malaysia and Lieutenant WN Asela from Sri Lanka were each presented a book prize, for standing Second and Third, in the overall Order of Merit respectively. The trainees were subjected to a seven-and-a-half-month curriculum which included a scientific orientation phase, basic phase, a guided weapon introductory capsule, equipment phase consisting of weapon & sensor systems and war gaming.
