Passing Out Parade of POM ‘Q’ Course Held at School of Medical Assistants
112 Probationary Medical Assistants (PMAs) and 48 trainees of POM ‘Q’ Course graduated at a Passing Out Parade held at School of Medical Assistants (SOMA) on 07 March 2020. The POP was reviewed by Commanding Officer, INHS Asvini. Both the courses underwent theory sessions and practical/ simulation based training in various medical, surgical and nursing care procedures. As a pioneering initiative, the present batch of PMAs were trained in American Heart Association AHA certified Basic Life Support courses in life-saving first-aid and CPR protocols. Both courses were trained on Human Simulator and advanced task trainers. A cultural programme ‘SOMA Social’ was also organised on 05 March 2020, wherein the trainees showcased their talent through various socially relevant acts and folk dances. Piyush Khokar, PMA was adjudged as the overall best PMA of the flagship course.
