Plogging Drive on Bharat Parv

To celebrate five day long 'Bharat Parv' (India Fest) being observed by Southern Naval Command a two hour long special Plogging drive was conducted on 29 Janaury 2020 at Naval residential areas of Kochi. The drive also included, Shramdaan towards Coastal-cleanup and Cleanliness drive within and outside naval base as well as INS Dronacharaya. Additionally, poster making and drawing competition were conducted for students of NCS, Kochi on theme ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’.

The drive witnessed committed and enthusiastic participation of over thousand Naval Personnel, DSC Personnel, Defence Civilians, families and students of Navy Children School, Kochi to make naval area a plastic free zone. The endeavour to keep naval bases plastic free was evident during plogging drive, with everyone collecting small quantity of waste material, poly bags and plastic discarded waste.

Southern Naval Command has put in concerted efforts in maintaining plastic free Naval bases.
