World Environment Day 2021 at ENC

All naval units located at Visakhapatnam and outlying units under ENC observed World Environment Day on 05 June 2021 with the theme Ecosystem Restoration. The events spread across various stations witnessed proactive participation by all naval personnel, their families and children adhering to COVID19 protocols. At Visakhapatnam, a pyrolysis based Solid Waste Management Plant with zero residue conversion of un-segregated waste has been commissioned at 104 area during the year. Further, over 2,600 saplings of different varieties were planted on the occasion. Station Commander, Visakhapatnam Naval Area led the plantation drive at INS Circars. Similar plantation drives were also conducted by INS Dega, Eksila, Satvahana, Naval Dockyard (V), Rajali, Kattaboman, Parundu, TS Avadi, NOIC (WBG) and NOIC (ODS). In addition to plantation drives, Lectures, Painting, Quiz and Essay writing competitions for children were also conducted. Videos on various environmental issues with a motto of Reimagine, Recreate and Restore have been compiled and circulated to spread awareness.
