Outdoor Camps

STT conducts the outdoor camps for all courses at INA. The camps are aimed at promoting qualities of leadership, camaraderie and esprit-de-corps under conditions of extreme physical and mental stress. The camps are also a tool to assess OLQs of cadets. It is noteworthy that camps at INA have been ‘marinised’ and comprise a mix of seamanship activities, land endurance exercises, whaler sailing at sea and whaler pulling in the backwaters amongst others. Four camps are conducted every term and are as follows: -

Also, various seamanship evolutions, such as Swinging Derrick, Prussik Knot, Ropeway and Parbuckling are taught to trainees during these camps.
