INS Shivaji conducts Barakhana for Nab Lion’s Home, Samvad School & Balgram Orphanage and Picnic for Staff and Families of Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre (PRC), Kirkee (Pune)

As part of Navy Week Celebrations, a visit to INS Shivaji was conducted for National Association for the Blind (NAB) Lion’s Home, Samvad School & Balgram Orphanage on 05 December and residents of Paraplegic Rehabilitation Centre (PRC), Kirkee(Pune) on 09 December 2017. As part of the visit, the children, veterans and their families were taken to the INS Shivaji museum and the sailing club followed by Barakhana at Deepika community hall and sailing club. A total of 240 men, women and children attended the event.

INS Shivaji naval band performed for the guests during the Barakhana and their performance inspired an active participation by the students and residents from Balgram Orphanage and PRC, Kirkee, who took to the stage and displayed their musical skills. The Barakhana was followed by screening of movie for veterans and families from PRC, Kirkee. Commodore KP Arvindan, VSM, Commanding Officer INS Shivaji and Station Commander, Lonavla was the Chief Guest for the event. The staff and the ladies of Station Lonavla interacted with the students/ residents from the various homes.
