Inter Divisional Pulling Regatta Held at INS Chilka, Odisha

The Inter Divisional Pulling Regatta for Batch 01/2018 was held at INS Chilka on 08-09 Jun 18 in whaler boats. A total of 11 teams, including one best whaler team, was fielded by each of the 10 divisions. Four teams from the Ship’s Company, including one officers’ team, also participated along with the trainees in the best whaler race. Participants from all the divisions and Ship’s Company displayed great zeal and skill throughout the event.

The aim of conducting the Pulling Regatta is to inculcate the spirit of adventure and watermanship, develop strength and endurance and foster competitiveness and team spirit among young trainees.  The regatta is a keenly contested event at INS Chilka, in which all the teams compete to win top honours.

On completion of the event, Commodore Manish Misra, Commanding Officer INS Chilka awarded the prizes to the winners. Ashok Division emerged as the winner of the Pulling Regatta and was awarded the coveted ‘Cock’ trophy, with Shivaji Division having to settle for the runners up position.
