Rear Admiral Tarun Sobti Assumes Charge as the Deputy Commandant, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala

Rear Admiral Tarun Sobti, assumed charge as the Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor of Indian Naval Academy (INA), Ezhimala, on Monday 04 March 2019.

The Admiral was commissioned into the Indian Navy in July 1988 and is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, Collége Interarmées de Defense, Paris and College of Naval Warfare, Mumbai.

A specialist in Navigation and Direction, during his illustrious career spanning 31 years, he has piloted Indian Naval Ships Abhay, Kirpan and Mysore and was part of the Direction Team on INS Viraat. The Flag Officer has commanded frontline missile corvettes INS Nishank, and INS Kora and commissioned the first of class destroyer, INS Kolkata as the Commanding Officer.

His staff appointments include tenures at Directorate of Staff Requirements, Directorate of Personnel and Captain Work Up at Local Work Up Team (East). He served as the Naval Attaché at Embassy of India, Moscow, before taking over the present appointment.
