Formal Course on Indigenisation Conducted at Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology (NIAT), Kochi

In pursuance to the Government of India’s vision of Make in India, a formal course of two weeks on Indigenisation was conducted at Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology (NIAT). 17 officers of Indian Navy and one officer from Indian Coast Guard participated in the course which included, lectures by Speakers from IHQ MoD (Navy), Naval Aviation Indigenisation Organisations, representatives from FICCI and Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC). In addition, a two-day industrial visit to 11 BRD, Nasik was organised and coordinated by Central Indigenisation and Manufacturing Depot, IAF. Two officers from Indian Air Force joined the course during the visit to 11 BRD and shared their experiences thereby encouraging synergy and jointness. The course aims to create a pool of officers to steer Naval Aviation Indigenisation projects. Commodore Air Projects and Plans, IHQ MoD (Navy) delivered the valedictory address on 02 November 2019 to the participants and presented course completion certificates.
