Admiral Arun Prakash (Retd) Former Chief of the Naval Staff, Interacts With Flag Officers and Commanding Officers of Eastern Naval Command

Admiral Arun Prakash, PVSM, AVSM, VrC, VSM, (Retd) former Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) delivered a lecture on ‘Strategic Leadership and National Security’ at Maritime Warfare Centre, Visakhapatnam on 03 Febuary 2020. The interactive lecture was attended by all the Flag Officers and Commanding Officers of naval units at Visakhapatnam.

Admiral Arun Prakash arrived Visakhapatnam on a two-day visit to ENC on 02 Febuary 2020. During the visit, the former CNS interacted with Vice Admiral Atul Kumar Jain, FOC-in-C ENC.  Earlier, Admiral Arun Prakash attended a special programme organised by the Centre for Policy Studies at Visakhapatnam Public Library where he released a compendium of articles titled ‘India’s Strategic and Security Concerns’ written by Commodore C Uday Bhaskar (Retd) on 02 Febuary 2020.  

Adm Prakash served as the Chief of Naval Staff from July 2004 to October 2006 and as Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Fleet at Visakhapatnam from April 1995 to November 1996. As a young Lieutenant, during the 1971 war, Admiral Arun Prakash had the distinction of serving with an Indian Air Force fighter-bomber squadron, and was awarded the Vir Chakra for gallantry in air action over West Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir.
