Vice Admiral B Sivakumar, AVSM, VSM

Vice Admiral B Sivakumar assumed charge as Controller of Warship Production and Acquisition on 01 Jan 2024. He is an alumnus of 70th Course, NDA and was commissioned as an Electrical Officer into the Indian Navy on 01 Jul 1987.

The Flag Officer holds Master Degrees in Electrical Engineering from IIT Chennai, in Management from Osmania University and in Philosophy from Madras University. He has held various important appointments during his distinguished and illustrious service of 36 years. He has served onboard frontline warships such as INS Ranjit, Kirpan and Akshay and also commanded INS Valsura.

The Admiral has experience in a plethora of fields having headed the Directorate of Weapons Equipment, Directorate of Electrical Engineering at NHQ and served in Naval Dockyard, Visakhapatnam.

In the Flag rank, his appointments include Additional Director General (Tech) Project Seabird, Chief Staff Officer (Tech) at HQWNC and Admiral Superintendent of Naval Dockyard, Mumbai. On completion of his tenure as Assistant Chief of Materiel (Information Technology & Systems) at Naval Headquarters, he was promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral and appointed as Programme Director, HQATVP.

He is a recipient of the Vishisht Seva Medal and Ati Vishisht Seva Medal for his distinguished service.
