Southern Naval Command Afloat Awards Function 2024

SNC Afloat Function was held at Naval Base, Kochi on 23 June 2024. The award function was conceptualised to acknowledge the operational readiness and combat efficiency of SNC ships. Vice Admiral V Srinivas, FOCINC, SNC was Chief Guest of the event. During the event, annual report of activities and achievements of SNC afloat units for past one year was presented. In a busy operational year, the ships of SNC have been at the forefront of operational activities ranging from AntiPiracy operations, coastal security, Casualty Evacuation and hydrographic operations. SNC ships had extensively participated in various maritime partnership and bilateral/ multilateral exercises, notable being India -Mozambique- Tanzania TRILAT24 and Op Cutlass towards ensuring Security and Growth for All in the Region SAGAR. INS Tir was adjudged the 'Best Ship' and INS Sharda was awarded the 'Most Spirited Ship'. Various other trophies for excellence in other dimensions of maritime operations were also awarded. The award function witnessed a spirited and talented performance of SNC afloat personnel. On completion of event, CINC interacted with ship's crew reinforcing the bond and shared commitment of excellence.
