Admiral R Hari Kumar CNS inaugurated Naval History Division NHD at Goa by unveiling the inaugural plaque. The Naval History Cell (NHC) was established in 1968 to document War and Operational history, it was subsequently re-designated as the Naval History Division in 2006. NHD's scope of responsibilities expanded to cater for compilation of historical data and function as the research institution of Navy and carry out research in Maritime matters. NHD has so far published seven volumes, recording the history of Indian Navy from 1945 to 2021.
