All India Invitational Elite Boxing Championship

The Indian Navy bagged the 1st position in the 2nd ‘Bengal Classic’ All India Invitational Elite (Men/ Women) Boxing Championship, held at Jatin Das Park, Kolkata from 21 to 25 January 2019. A total of 147 boxers from 20 teams participated in the Championship. Indian Navy fielded six boxers in the Light Fly (49 kg), Fly (52 kg), Bantam (56 kg), Light (60 kg), Light Welter (64 kg) and Welter (69 kg) weight categories. N T Lalbiek Kima, Sea II (UW) was adjudged the Overall Best Boxer and won Gold medal in Light Fly weight category. Other Indian Navy boxers who won medals were SB Singh, Log II (SC) - Gold in Welter weight, Membrajit Meitei, Log II(SC) - Silver in Bantam weight, Namit Bahadur, LLog (OC) - Bronze in Light weight and Vishal Chouhan, NA I (AH) - Bronze in Light Welter weight.
