Change of Command Gujarat Naval Area

Rear Admiral Manish Chadha, VSM, took over duties of Flag Officer Commanding Gujarat Naval Area FOGNA on 06 December 2021 from Rear Admiral Puruvir Das, NM, who is proceeding to Defence Services Staff College, Wellington as Chief Instructor (Navy). An alumnus of NDA, Khadakvasla, Rear Admiral Chadha was commissioned into Indian Navy on 01 July 1991. A Communication and Electronic Warfare specialist, he completed his staff course from DSSC, Welliington and Higher Command Course from National Defence University, Washington, USA. A Vishist Seva Medal awardee in 2017, he commanded Coast Guard interceptor boat CGS-05 and INS Veer, Kirpan and Mysore. He also served as Executive Officer of INS Talwar. He tenanted staff billets at the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Navy) in the Directorate of Naval Signals where he was Director of Project Amber (VLF) and Rukmani (naval communication satellite) and Director for the International Fleet Review 2016. He was also the Command Coastal Security Officer at HQWNC. Prior, taking over as Flag Officer Commanding Gujarat Naval Area, he was the Naval Advisor at the Embassy at Moscow.
