Course Completion Ceremony of Marine Engineering Specialisation Course at INS Shivaji.

34 officers comprising 21 from Indian Navy, four from Indian Coast Guard, eight from Sri Lanka and one from Myanmar successfully completed 105 weeks of Marine Engineering Specialisation Course MESC at INS Shivaji, Lonavala. Rear Admiral Subir Mukherjee, Admiral Superintendent of Yard, NSRY Kochi was the Chief Guest for the course completion ceremony held on 29 June 2024. As part of course curriculum, the officers underwent rigorous watch keeping onboard warships and undertook challenging Marine Engineering projects. The officers inculcated an aptitude for technical assignments and research through a wide array of projects, ranging from development of working prototype model of Gas Turbine from a Turbocharger as a Training Aid to development of Solar Power Integrated Electric OBM Propelled vessel. During the ceremonial parade, awards were presented to officers excelling in various fields by the Chief Guest. Lieutenant Shinde Pranav Rangarao was awarded ‘Best All-Round Officer’ and ‘Positive Living Officer’ trophies. 'Best Sportsman’ trophy was awarded to Lieutenant Rohit S Nair. Lieutenant Rishabh Agnihotri was awarded the ‘First in Order of Academic Merit’ and ‘Best International Officer Trainee’ was awarded to Lieutenant WPAS Weerawardhana of Sri Lankan Navy.
