French Air Defence Frigate Chevalier Paul visited Mumbai from 18-21 November 2021

French air defence frigate Chevalier Paul arrived at Mumbai on 18 November 2021 for a three day goodwill visit. The ship was received by Captain Kartik Srimal, Commanding Officer, INS Mumbai, on behalf of the WNC. The Commanding Officer of the visiting ship, along with the French Defence Attaché, called on Vice Admiral K Swaminathan, Chief of Staff, WNC. During the call, issues of mutual interest were discussed. The visiting ship hosted a reception onboard for Indian Navy personnel and local civilian dignitaries. On its part, the Indian Navy extended to the visitors the opportunity for a number of activities, including a much appreciated Indian Food Festival, cultural tour of the city of Mumbai, dinner hosted by the Western Fleet and a friendly football match. The visiting ship is an advanced air defence frigate in the French Navy and is based at Toulon, Southern France. She was operating in the IOR and arrived at Mumbai from Djibouti after participating in various antipiracy and antismuggling operations.
