Graduation Ceremony of Foreign Observer Course

Two officers, one each from Bangladesh and Vietnam, of the 11th Foreign Observer Course graduated on 11 January 2019 at a Graduation Ceremony conducted at Mihir Hall, Observer School, INS Garuda, Kochi. Commodore RR Ayyar, Commanding Officer, INS Garuda awarded certificates to the officers.

Extending its hand of friendship and assistance across the oceans, the Indian Navy undertook the training towards meeting the capability enhancement requirements of these two countries.  

The foreign officers were trained in basic air navigation, flying procedures - both over land and sea, tactics employed in air warfare and exploitation of airborne avionic systems. Flying training over sea has provided exposure to the officers in maritime reconnaissance including Sea Lanes of Communication (SLOC) monitoring and Search and Rescue. The officers will join the Naval Aviation wing of their respective countries.
