Homage to Lataji

Legendary singer and Bharat Ratna awardee, Ms. Lata Mangeshkar, was cremated with full state honours at Shivaji Park, Dadar on 06 February 2022. The Hon'ble Prime Minisiter Shri Narendra Modi and several central government and state government dignitaries attended the funeral and paid homage.Rear Admiral Sandeep Mehta, Flag Officer Commanding Maharashtra Naval Area and Commodore Jilet Koshy, Naval Officer In-Charge, Maharashtra paid homage to the mortal remains of the much- revered singer and laid wreaths on behalf of the Hon'ble Raksha Mantri and the Chief of the Naval Staff respectively. Personnel of the WNC were also part of the tri-services guard paraded as part of the ceremony.
