Indian Naval Ship and Japanese Warship Participate in a Passage Exercise

Indian Naval Ship Teg participated in a Passage Exercise (PASSEX) with Japanese warship, JMSDF Ikazuchi in the Gulf of Aden. The aim of exercise was to strengthen interoperability through better understanding of each other’s capabilities, best practices and procedures, as well as for enhancing coordination. During the PASSEX, personnel from both ships embarked the other for a walk-around and discussions on measures to counter piracy and other possible areas of cooperation. A series of exercises including Boat Operations, Tactical Manoeuvers, Simultaneous Helicopter Launch as well as Aerial Photography were undertaken. The PASSEX concluded with a Steam Past during which both ships exchanged ceremonials.
