Blood Donation Camp Organised by INS Circars at Visakhapatnam

A Mega Blood Donation Camp was organised by INS Circars on 20 February 2020. The camp was inaugurated by Commodore KA Bopanna Commanding Officer INS Circars and conducted in collaboration with NTR Memorial Blood Bank at the Command Gymnasium. There was an overwhelming response from volunteers amongst the naval personnel including families and Defence Civilians and Defence Security Corps personnel, wherein 230 individuals, including ladies, volunteered and donated blood, which was handed over to participating Blood Bank.

As part of Community Outreach, naval personnel and Defence Civilians and their families voluntarily donate blood during Blood Donation Camps which are organised by various naval units at Visakhapatnam throughout the year. The donated blood is handed over to the voluntary Blood Banks in the city for use by the general public when in need. Last year 11 such Blood Donations Camps were organised by Eastern Naval Command in which over 2200 units of blood was donated by naval personnel and defence civilians.
