DIESEL AND GAS TURBINE (DAG) WING

Front Façade – DAG WingThe Diesel and Gas Turbine Wing was created post merger of erstwhile Diesel Engine Wing (DEW) and the Gas Turbine Wing (GTW) in 2009. The Wing imparts technical training on all aspects pertaining to operation and maintenance of Diesel Engines and Gas Turbines fitted onboard IN ships. Nuances of Internal Combustion Engines are taught here through classroom instructions, practical training and demonstrations including ‘Hands-on-Skill’ sessions which form an integral part of the curriculum to develop definite skill-sets as per the training objectives and job specifications of a trainee. The spectrum of training at DAG Wing covers small IC Engines to the latest Gas Turbines and high power Diesel Generators. The DAG Wing comprises the latest training facilities in its Live and Static Bays which include Cummins Diesel Alternators with capacities varying from 300 kW to 1000 kW, 1250 E Gas Turbine Generator and other equipment such as Radial Engines, Boat Engines, etc. The training aids are optimally utilised to enable trainees to comprehend all technical issues pertaining to operation and watchkeeping on the equipment along with maintenance and defect analyses.
